Designed and built to give bands and songwriters the best quality Live recordings. The studio is fully equipped and has a full PA, drum kit & back line, artists just need to bring their instruments (drummers need sticks, felts & breakables). These Live recordings can be mixed by our engineer at professional levels which are suitable for radio play.

Base Studio’s main engineer Crazy Mule has been in the music industry for over 30 years and has worked with artists such as Björk and many more big names. A pioneer of sound and a master of getting bands to give their best performance on to a recording in one take! That's right! Live!

Out of our 6 studio/rehearsal rooms Studio 1 is used to give bands and songwriters quality Live recordings.Our studio is based in Stourbridge, fully equipped for bands and artists. Studio 1 has a full PA, Drum kit & back line, you just need you to bring your instruments and drum sticks, felts & breakables. To hear examples of some of the artists we have recorded then listen to the BASE STUDIOS myspace player.
About Live Recordings
For £33 an hour (most bands book studio 1 for between 2-4 hours) you get the chance to play as many songs as you can in-between your booked session and have them professionally recorded. This is a great way for bands to test out new tunes before spending money on a big studio session for a major recording.
What You Get:
You get a CD with a good quality basic mix of the live recordings from your session in Studio 1. Some bands & artists just play as many songs as possible from their set, others try a few tracks and aim to get one really good live performance of each song.
Mastering your LIVE session:
If there's a song from your live recording session which you feel has the potential to be included in a future CD release from you then the engineer 'Crazy Mule' will mix and master the track to make it good enough for Radio in his own studio for £30 per track. The results are stunning.
