ALL PROCEEDS GOING TO MARY STEVENS HOSPICE
Initial heat to be held on the 6/7/September 2008 at Base studios. Five local judges will choose 10 bands to go through to semi finals. Each band will be asked to perform two tracks.
AFTER two days of tough competition the Stourbridge News can exclusively reveal the ten semi-finalists for Base Studios? Battle of The Bands.
Groups from around the region performed for a panel of judges at the Rufford Road recording and rehearsal complex in a bid to win through to the next round of the event, to be held in November.
Bands were marked on talent, performance, originality and stage presence at heats held on September 6 and 7.
The top ten bands will now go head to head for a place in the final, which will be broadcast live on the world-wide web.

As well as giving bands a chance to scoop top prizes and be seen by internet viewers around the World, the competition is also supporting Mary Stevens Hospice by taking donations from visitors to the heats.Semi finals to be held 1st of November 2008 at Base studios, the same judges will be asked to select the best five bands to through to the final.
The final will be held 6th of December 2008. The final will be broadcast live on the internet.
Finalists will get to perform live on the Internet for free, contacts with local promoters such as Gotham records from Birmingham and Kerrang radio. Winning band will receive live recording of track played on local radio station the bridge, HD DVD of event, 10 hours of rehearsal time
